Jennifer had been addicted to substances for 25 years — her entire adult life. She had been in jail, in and out of treatment facilities, but without hope for the future or stable housing, she would relapse each time. The last time she stepped out of a rehab facility, she decided it was time to put an end to this destructive cycle once and for all. But how?

Where is Jennifer Now?
When Jennifer video chatted with us in October 2020, she had been clean for 18 months, found a job through a WISEPlace alum she met at one of our events, bought a car, and was saving money for her future. Thanks to your support of WISEPlace, Jennifer is making incredible progress!
Eight months later, Jennifer is thriving at WISEPlace’s Positive Step House program, a small group home where she pays rent and is able to benefit from WISEPlace’s wraparound services, such as weekly therapy and case management sessions. She continues to work hard at her job and saves every penny to put toward a safe home to call her own. With her newfound confidence and skills she gained at WISEPlace, Jennifer is also working toward starting her own business one day.
Jennifer has stayed focused on her addiction recovery, and regularly attends support meetings. She hit a major milestone in March – she is two years clean! Having safe, stable shelter and a strong support system has enabled Jennifer to reach goals that once seemed unattainable.
