Learning Sessions

Homelessness Explained

WISEPlace offers virtual learning session events to support our community in better understanding
homelessness and the ways we can work together to end it.

Homelessness is a complex issue. As a community, many of us have questions about why people become homeless,
how homelessness affects community resources, and what we can do to help people get off the streets.

Learning Sessions Help Answer Questions

How do these women end up on the street?

Do they have family and friends to help them?

How do they find their way to WISEPlace?

How does WISEPlace help them find jobs?

How can we help people stay off the streets long-term?

Upcoming Learning Sessions

Stay tuned for the next date.

To attend an upcoming learning session, please RSVP to Events@WISEPlace.org.

To help answer these questions, Dr. David A. Snow, a distinguished professor at the University of California, Irvine, will update us with a presentation during the virtual learning session. Dr. Snow is the author or co-author of over 100 articles and ten books on socioeconomic marginality with an emphasis on homelessness and poverty social protest and movements; social psychology focusing on changes in cognitive orientation; and qualitative research methods.
